Emerging African Leaders Foundation Conference 2018

Shaping the Future: The 2018 Emerging African Leaders Foundation Conference

In November 2018, the Centre for Social Awareness, Advocacy, and Ethics (CSAAE) hosted the impactful Emerging African Leaders Foundation Conference in FCT Abuja. This transformative event welcomed 100 passionate young leaders from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared commitment to personal growth, ethical leadership, and positive change.

The conference focused on equipping emerging leaders with the knowledge, values, and networks essential for driving Africa’s progress. Participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions, interactive workshops, and collaborative activities, all designed to foster critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and a sense of responsibility towards their communities and the continent at large.

24 participants were selected to undergo a 12 months leadership training. A defining moment of the training was the induction of the trained participants into CSAAE’s prestigious mentorship Network of Effective African Leaders. This network offers lifelong mentorship, providing continuous guidance and support as these young leaders pursue their personal and professional aspirations. From entrepreneurship to public service, advocacy to innovation, each mentee gains access to seasoned mentors who help them navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and stay grounded in ethical leadership principles.

The 2018 conference marked more than just an event — it sparked a lasting journey of transformation for its participants. It reinforced CSAAE’s mission to nurture a new generation of African leaders who are not only skilled and ambitious but also driven by integrity and a profound sense of duty to society.

As the mentorship network continues to expand, the impact of this conference lives on through the remarkable achievements of its alumni, who are making strides in various sectors, embodying the change they once envisioned in Abuja.

The future of Africa shines brighter, thanks to initiatives like the Emerging African Leaders Foundation Conference — where leadership isn’t just taught, but cultivated for a lifetime.
