Meet Our Team

Rev. Fr. Godswill Agbagwa
Fr. Godswill Uchenna Agbagwa, a Catholic priest and social ethicist from Umueze Amaimo, Nigeria, has dedicated his career to Catholic social teaching and ethics. He graduated with top honors—summa cum laude in philosophy, theology, and religion—from Seat of Wisdom Major Seminary Owerri, an affiliate of Pontifical Urban University in Rome. He earned a master’s degree in legal and ethical studies from the University of Baltimore, a licentiate in theology from Sacred Heart Seminary Detroit (affiliated with St. Thomas Aquinas University, Rome), and a doctorate in moral theology and ethics from the Catholic University of America, with a focus on Catholic social teaching.
Fr. Agbagwa founded the Centre for Social Awareness, Advocacy and Ethics (CSAAE) and Catholic Social Teaching in Action (CASTINA), which address global poverty, governance, rule of law, and leadership development. He has taught social ethics at St. Mary’s Seminary, ITT Baltimore, and Frostburg State University, where he developed ethics modules for various fields. His expertise has led to roles representing African Civil Societies at the World Bank and IMF and speaking invitations at the Harvard University African Development Conference and World Bank/IMF meetings. Fr. Agbagwa is also an accomplished author, contributing books and articles to the fields of ethics and social development.

Rev. Fr. Prof. Ochasi, Aloysius
Dr. Ochasi is an Associate Professor with the Department of Bioethics and Interdisciplinary Studies at the Brody School of Medicine, as well as Adjunct Faculty with the Department of Physician Assistant Studies in the College of Allied Health at East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina. He teaches leadership courses at the MacArthur School of Leadership at Palm Beach Atlantic University, Florida. Dr. Ochasi has three bachelors (Philosophy, Theology, and Religious Studies) from the Pontifical Urban University, Rome, and Imo State University, Nigeria, respectively, two masters in Healthcare Ethics and Theology from St Joseph's University, Philadelphia, and the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas, Angelicum, Rome, and two doctorate degrees in Bioethics and Organizational Leadership from Loyola University, Chicago, and Eastern University, PA respectively.
Before joining the Brody School of Medicine, he taught medical ethics courses at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA. As a health system ethicist, he conducted ethics teaching rounds, lectures, and consultations for over 500 medical students, interns, residents, and fellows at fourteen acute-care hospitals across four states (PA, MD, NJ, and DE).
Dr. Ochasi is actively involved in the Bioethics Collaborative, which provides ethics services to ECU Health. He has published several articles in national and international bioethics journals. Dr. Ochasi is in the final stages of publishing his book on moral distress and moral disengagement among medical residents. His research interests include Moral Distress and Moral Disengagement in Healthcare, Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Medicine, Reusable Medical Devices in Developing Nations, Health Equity and Access, and Organ Donation and Transplantation.

Rev. Fr. Dr. John Chidi Obasi
Rev. Fr. Dr. John Chidi Obasi is a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki. He holds a bachalor degrees in Philosophy (Rome, 1990), Theology (Rome, 1994); A Master Degrees in Health Care Ethics (USA, 2003), Leadership and Liberal Studies(USA, 2004); A Doctorate degree in Health Care Ethics (USA, 2006); Post graduate Diplomas in Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies (USA, 2004), Psychology/Social Work (USA, 2005), Sex and Drug Counselling (USA, 2005).
Currently, he is the Chaplain of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Chaplaincy Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki( AE-FUTHA) St Maximilian Kolbe Prison Chaplaincy, Abakaliki, Lecturer College of Medicine, Ebonyi State University, Lecturer the Schools of Nursing and Midwifery, (AE-FUTHA) Assistant Director Medical Social Work (AEFUTHA) , Member Research and Ethics Committee (AE-FUTHA), Member Bioethics in Nigeria, Member National Catholic Bioethics Centre, Boston, MA, USA, Member Hastings Centre, Garrison, NY, USA. He has published many books and articles.

Rev. Fr. Dr. Isueseni, Simon A.
Rev Fr Dr Simon A Isueseni is a Priest of the Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki Nigeria. He holds bachelors degrees in Philosophy (1996) and Theology (2001) respectively from the Pontifical Urban university Rome. He holds a Master's Degree in Applied Ethics in Healthcare and Social Work (2015) from the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Freiburg Germany and a Doctorate Degree (2016) in Moral Theology from the Albert Ludwigs University Freiburg Germany. He equally holds Diploma Certificates in Human Resource Management and Health, Safety and Environment in Advance Level.
Currently, he is the Hospital/ College Administrator to Mater Misericordiae Hospital and College of Nursing Sciences, Mater Misericordiae Hospital Afikpo Ebonyi State where he lectures in Nursing Ethics and Ethics and Jurisprudence. He is a member, Ebonyi State Research and Ethics Committee.

Solomon Chidi Alexander

Over the years, he has honed his expertise in project management, stakeholder engagement, social development, and policy analysis.
Ethics has always been at the heart of Solomon’s academic and professional pursuits. His deep interest in ethical frameworks and codes of conduct led him to take on the critical role of overseeing the ethics program at CSAAE.

Francisca Chinelo Ekwonu
Francisca Ekwonu is a passionate advocate for ethical leadership and practice with a strong background in health, advocacy, and compliance. With over a decade of experience working in the nonprofit and development sector, including being the Monitoring, Evaluation and Compliance Officer at CSAAE, she has dedicated her career to equipping young people with the skills, tools and opportunities they need to thrive.
With a background in Biomedical Science and development, Francisca brings a thoughtful and practical approach to ethics facilitation, policy advising, and advocacy. Her work is guided by a deep commitment to promoting integrity, accountability, and human dignity across systems and institutions. She is dedicated to equipping future healthcare professionals with critical knowledge and practical tools to navigate ethical challenges in clinical practice
