ETHICS CONTESTS AND AWARDS
The aim of this initiative is to encourage ethical reasoning among undergraduate and secondary school students.
The contests focus on contemporary topics and can be in form of:
Debate
Essay competition
Quiz
Winners are awarded prizes at the CSAAE Awards Dinner. More than 5000 Nigerian youths have participated in these ethics contests.

CSAAE National Undergraduate Ethics Quiz 2024
Are you ready to put your ethical reasoning and decision-making skills to the test? The National Undergraduate Ethics Quiz 2024 is here!
Date: 1 Dec – 3 Dec
Venue: Virtual via Zoom
Awards:
Prizes will be awarded in Owerri at the CSAAE Awards Event. This year, the award event will be part of the activities marking CSAAE’s 10th Anniversary Celebration in Owerri. A representative from each of the winning teams shall come to Owerri to receive the prize on behalf of their entire team
Logistics
The quiz shall be Virtual via Zoom, while the winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd) shall send a representative to receive the prize in-person in Owerri. The prize shall be awarded as one of the activities marking CSAAE’s 10th anniversary. The organizers shall take charge of the transportation cost and hotel accommodation for the student who will receive the prize on behalf of his/her team.
Who Can Participate?
Open to all undergraduate students in recognized tertiary institutions in Nigeria including Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education, Schools of Nursing, etc.
Method of Registration
Participants shall register on an individual basis. During registration, the candidate will take an Ethics Computer Based Test (Ethics CBT). Three candidates from the same institution who pass the Ethics CBT with the highest scores will be asked to form a team to represent their school in the quiz competition. The successful candidates shall submit their departmental ID card and a reference letter from their HOD to authenticate their legitimacy.
Nature of Competition
Stage One
The Ethics CBT which the contestant shall write during registration shall constitute the 1st stage of the contest. At the close of registration, 16 schools with the highest scores shall be shortlisted to proceed to the second stage of the contest.
Stage two:
Sixteen (16) institutions shall be paired, narrowing down to a set of 8 groups consisting of two institutions per group.
Members of each group shall compete, and the winners shall proceed to the next stage
Stage Three:
The 8 winners from stage two shall be paired, further narrowing down to a set of 4 groups consisting of two institutions per group.
Members of each group shall compete, and the winners shall proceed to the next stage
State Four
The 4 winners from stage three shall be paired, further narrowing down to a set of 2 groups consisting of two institutions per group.
Members of each group shall compete, and the winners shall proceed to the next stage
Stage Five
The two institutions from stage four with the lower score shall compete for the 3rd position.
The winners from stage four shall compete for the 1st place. The institution with the highest score shall take the 1st position, while the other institution takes the 2nd position.
Prizes:
1st Prize: ₦500,000 + Certificates + Plaque for the institution
2nd Prize: ₦400,000 + Certificates + Plaque for the institution
3rd Prize: ₦300,000 + Certificates + Plaque for the institution
Certificates of participation for all contestants who passed the preliminary stage (Ethics CBT)
